Galvanized Wire Mesh

Galvanized wire mesh is a strong, long-lasting metal mesh made from zinc-coated high-carbon steel wires. Its strength and versatility make galvanized wire mesh popular for fencing, sifting, filtering, reinforcement, and machine guarding in industrial and residential settings.

Galvanized wire mesh comes in various configurations to suit your specific project. Look for galvanized wire mesh based on your needs:

• Weave patterns: Square openings prioritize strength, while hexagonal mesh prioritizes flexibility. Diamond-shaped mesh is optimal for galvanized wire fencing.
• Connection type—welded vs. woven: Galvanized welded wire mesh is welded at its connections while interlacing metal wires form galvanized woven wire mesh. Welded wire cloth is more rigid and can hold its shape better than woven wire cloth.
• Gauge thickness: Galvanized wire mesh cloth is usually made from 12–14 gauge wire, about 2.5 mm thick. A thicker wire, or lower gauge, can generally withstand more physical stress. For example, a 9 to 12.5-gauge wire is better for more robust applications like fencing for larger animals, while a 16-gauge wire might be better for more delicate tasks. 
• Mesh size: Galvanized wire mesh usually ranges from ½” to 4” openings. Smaller openings facilitate finer filtration, while larger openings allow better air or liquid flow.
